Haiyan Relief Efforts For Palau (Honolulu, Hi.)

[sent to us from Richard Salvador]

Help the Palauan community in Honolulu, Hi. raise funds and awareness to support the people affected in Palau by super-typhoon Haiyan.

1) They are doing a car wash fundraiser on Saturday, November 30 from 9am to 4pm. This will be in the parking lot of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kalihi. The address there is:  638 N Kuakini St, Honolulu, HI 96817.

Driving directions: if you were driving through Honolulu's Chinatown toward Kalihi, you would drive on Beretania Street until just before you reach Dillingham Boulevard. Turn right on Liliha Street and drive up all the way past Vineyard, over the overpass above the freeway, past School Street. The next big street after School Street is Kuakini Street.  Turn left on Kuakini Street.

That's the street where Liliha Bakery is located. Across from Liliha Bakery on the right side is Pizza Hut. Several houses after Pizza Hut, maybe 4 or 5 houses after, you will see the church.  Between 9am and 4pm on that day, many young Palauans will be out and about washing cars, so it should be easy to find them.

2) The other initiative is selling t-shirts with Typhoon Haiyan and Palau slogans. There is a website already set up where you can buy the t-shirts. All monies made from the sale of t-shirts will be sent to Palau for post-typhoon relief efforts.  Please visit this page to check out and buy the t-shirts for yourself or as gifts for your friends.
